Maynilad Water Services Inc. has launched an investigation regarding the pipe that bursted and flooded the road of Legarda in Sampaloc, Manila, on Wednesday morning, Dec. 13, according to an Maynilad official.
In an exclusive interview in Damdaming Bayan, Jennifer Rufo, Maynilad Head of Corporate Communications, said they are identifying which actual pipe had bursted and caused flooding in the area.
"Ongoing pa ang assessment sa pipe na nasira. We will give an update in the succeeding hours kapag alam na natin kung ano ang nature ng damage at ano ang estimated repair completion natin," she said.
"Chini-check pa sa ngayon. Hindi pa masabi kung ano ang specific pipe na na-damage at ang specific cause," Rufo added.

Around 6,400 service connections, according to the Maynilad official, are presently experiencing service interruptions, requiring Maynilad to deploy seven mobile water tankers in the area.
Rufo also said that they had sent contractors to dewater the affected area.
She said Maynilad received the report at 4:00 a.m.
