Maynilad expresses concern over possible water shortage
by Mary Antalan24 April 2024

The water service provider, Maynilad, expressed its concern about the possible water shortage that Metro Manila residents could experience in the future.

Interviewed during Dos Por Dos on Wednesday, Manila Water Supply Operations Head Engr. Ronald Padua said that the water shortage may occur due to the country's dangerous heat index.

Padua said Maynilad is still in good condition, and consumers are still receiving water services.

Currently, Padua clarified that there are no water interruptions due to the current extreme heat but due to the "normal maintenance" that the Maynilad conducts.

Padua, however, stressed that they should not be complacent, as rain in Metro Manila is not yet experienced.

As a response to the possibility of a water shortage, Padua said Maynilad is making strategies in case it occurs.

In the end, Padua reminded the consumers to practice responsible water usage.
