Starting October, customers of Manila Water will face higher tariffs, while Maynilad Water Services customers will experience lower rates.

The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) confirmed that its Board of Trustees approved the Foreign Currency Differential Adjustment (FCDA) for the fourth quarter.

According to the MWSS Regulatory Office, Manila Water will apply a tariff increase of 2.03%, or P0.86 per cubic meter, based on its 2024 average basic charge.

This means Manila Water customers using 10 cubic meters or less will see a P3.65 monthly increase, while those consuming 20 cubic meters and 30 cubic meters will see P8.10 and P16.54 increases, respectively.

Manila Water serves areas in the East Zone, including parts of Metro Manila and several towns in Rizal province.

In contrast, Maynilad will reduce its rates by 0.62%, equivalent to a P0.29 decrease per cubic meter. Residential customers using 10 cubic meters or less will see a reduction of P0.83 per month, while those consuming 20 cubic meters and 30 cubic meters will experience decreases of P3.14 and P6.43, respectively.

Maynilad covers the West Zone, serving parts of Metro Manila and areas in Cavite province.
