Rains will be experienced in many parts of the country due to the Southwest Monsoon or habagat, the Philippine Atmospheric Geographical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, August 14.
According to PAGASA's latest bulletin, the Southwest Monsoon is affecting southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to habagat.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the habagat and localized thunderstorms.
Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected in Zambales, Cavite, Rizal, and Quezon within the next two hours.
Moderate to heavy rain will be experienced in Parañaque, Taguig, Las Piñas, Manila, Quezon City, and San Juan in Metro Manila, and Morong in Bataan.
The weather bureau advised the public to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides.
