PAGASA monitors LPA outside PAR, may develop into tropical depression

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced Thursday morning that it is currently monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
"As of 8:00 AM today, 31 July 2025. The cloud cluster northeast of extreme Northern Luzon (Outside PAR) has developed into a low pressure area (LPA)," PAGASA said in an update.
The LPA was last spotted 1,020 kilometers northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon.
According to the weather bureau, the LPA has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
