In anticipation of the heavy rain and strong winds brought by Typhoon Betty, several areas in Luzon have suspended classes for Monday, May 29, and Tuesday, May 30.
As of now, the following areas have announced the suspension of classes on May 29:

Cagayan Valley
- Cagayan – all levels (public and private)
Ilocos Region
- Ilocos Norte
Solsona – all levels (public and private)
- Ilocos Sur – all levels (public and private)
On May 30, the suspension of classes continues in the following areas:

- Alcala
- Santa Praxedes
Ilocos Region
- Ilocos Norte
Solsona – all levels (public and private)
According to the latest forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Typhoon Betty is expected to maintain its west-northwestward or northwestward path until Monday, gradually losing intensity.
By Tuesday, the typhoon is projected to become slow-moving or almost stationary over the waters east of Batanes.
PAGASA also reported that Typhoon Betty's center is currently situated approximately 715 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. It has maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h near the center, with gusts reaching up to 215 km/h. The typhoon is moving westward at a speed of 15 km/h.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions as Typhoon Betty approaches.
