Aurora Gaming kicked off their MPL Philippines Season 14 campaign with a 2-0 victory over Blacklist International at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati on Friday night.
In the first game, both teams played cautiously, focusing on objectives rather than early kills. Aurora took control after winning a crucial Lord fight, securing two kills and pushing through to win the game in 15 minutes with a 7-0 kill score.
Yue led Aurora with two kills and five assists on Zhask.
The second game was more intense, with early kills from both sides. Aurora maintained their lead through key objective fights and secured another 15-minute win with a 14-6 kill score.
Demonkite stood out with 10 kills and one assist using Fanny.
Coach Aniel "Master the Basics" Jiandani attributed the victory to Aurora’s strong team chemistry.
“Mas nailalabas na ng players namin ‘yung laro nila. Kahit sino namang team, kapag bago yung line up hindi talaga ganon kadaling bumuo ng chemistry. Kaya both teams, samin saka yung Blacklist, expected talaga na bago lahat,” said Coach Aniel "Master the Basics" Jiandani.
“Pero mas naging maganda ‘yung chemistry namin ngayon kaya mas nanaig kami.”
Aurora Gaming will face RSG next, while Blacklist International will compete against FNATIC Onic Philippines on Sunday.
