After four years as one of the most recognizable faces and voices of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH), Mara Aquino has officially decided to step away from the league.
Aquino announced her departure yesterday, admitting that it was not an easy decision.
Beyond being a job, she described MPL PH as her home, family, and life, making the farewell even more emotional.
"Walking away from something you love is never easy, and MPL has been more than just a job for me—it has been my home, my family, and my life," she wrote.
However, despite the difficulty, she believes that this is the right move for her personal and professional growth.
"I’ve come to realize that it’s time for me to step away. This choice was not made lightly, but in my heart, I know it’s the right one. Letting go is never easy, but I believe that growth means allowing ourselves to evolve, even when it’s uncomfortable," said Aquino.
"It means embracing the unknown and having the courage to recreate ourselves when we know, deep down, that it’s time for change. And while this decision is difficult, I know in my heart that it’s time."
Aquino first made a name for herself as a host of the PBA halftime quiz show before joining MPL PH in Season 7.
Her talent and charisma on the MPL stage also opened doors for her on the international scene, where she hosted the M3 World Championship in Singapore (2021) and the M5 World Championship in the Philippines (2023).
Following her announcement, MPL Philippines shared a heartfelt message, acknowledging Aquino’s contributions to the league.
"Through epic moments, unforgettable matches, and countless post-game interviews, she made sure that every player, every fan, and every game had its story told. Her presence didn’t just add excitement—it made the MPL stage feel like home."
The league also celebrated her impact and wished her the best in her next journey.
"To the queen of esports hosting—THANK YOU for making every moment legendary, every game more thrilling, and every season more memorable. We wish you good luck as you embark on a new journey. We will always keep the good vibes, Ms. Mara Aquino!" MPL PH wrote.
