Fnatic ONIC Philippines won their first MPL Philippines Season 14 championship title with a 4-3 victory over Aurora in the Grand Finals on Sunday at the Green Sun Hotel.
FNOP, dominant throughout the season, overcame Aurora's strong comeback attempts. With a 3-1 lead, they were close to victory but Aurora pushed the series to Game 7 with key plays by gold laner Jan “Domeng” Delmundo.
In the final game, Duane “Kelra” Pillas, dubbed "The Gold Standard," led Fnatic ONIC to victory with his exceptional play on Beatrix, securing both the championship and the Finals MVP award.
Key kills by Jann Kirk "Kirk" Gutierrez’s Edith and Frince Miguel "Super Frince" Ramirez’s Vexana also allowed Fnatic ONIC to clinch the title.
The team will take home the biggest share of the prize pool, worth USD 150,000 or over PHP 8.7 million.
FNOP and Aurora will now head to the M6 World Championship in December in Malaysia.
