Typhoon Marce continues to weaken over the sea west of Ilocos Norte and is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this afternoon, according to PAGASA.

In its 5 a.m. Tropical Cyclone Bulletin, PAGASA reported that the center of Typhoon Marce was located over the coastal waters of Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte. The typhoon currently has maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour near the center, gusts of up to 215 kph, and is moving west-northwestward at 10 kph.

However, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 4 remains over:

  • Ilocos Norte
  • Northernmost portion of Ilocos Sur (Sinait, Cabugao)
  • Northern portion of Abra (Danglas, Lagayan, Tineg)
  • Northwestern portion of Apayao (Calanasan)
  • Northwestern portion of mainland Cagayan (Sanchez-Mira, Claveria, Santa Praxedes)

TCWS No. 3 is raised over:

  • Southern and western portion of Babuyan Islands (Fuga Is., Dalupiri Is., Calayan Is., Camiguin Is.)
  • Northern and western portions of Cagayan (Piat, Santo Niño, Rizal, Aparri, Lasam, Camalaniugan, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Allacapan, Pamplona, Abulug, Ballesteros)
  • Rest of Apayao
  • Central portion of Abra (Lacub, San Juan, La Paz, Bangued, Langiden, San Quintin, Pidigan, Malibcong, Peñarrubia, Bucay, Licuan-Baay, Lagangilang, Dolores, Tayum, Sallapadan, San Isidro)
  • Northern portion of Ilocos Sur (Santo Domingo, San Vicente, Santa Catalina, Bantay, San Ildefonso, Vigan City, Caoayan, Santa, Narvacan, Nagbukel, Magsingal, San Juan)

  • Southern portion of Batanes (Mahatao, Uyugan, Basco, Ivana, Sabtang)
  • Rest of Babuyan Islands
  • Rest of mainland Cagayan

  • Northern and central portions of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao)
  • Northern portion of Nueva Ecija (Carranglan)
  • Northern portion of Zambales (Santa Cruz, Candelaria)

Track and Intensity Outlook

Marce is expected to continue moving westward and exit PAR this afternoon or evening. By Sunday, it may shift southwest due to the influence of the northeasterly wind flow.

According to PAGASA, Typhoon Marce is likely to keep weakening over the coming days but will remain a typhoon as it exits PAR.
