The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) told local government units to strengthen their preparation for the expected impact of Typhoon Marce in Northern Luzon.
DILG Usec. Serafin Barreto Jr. particularly reminded LGUs to ensure the readiness of their evacuation centers.
DILG also told LGUs to spearhead the declogging and cleaning of waterways and drainage systems in order to mitigate flooding in the streets, especially in areas affected by the recent typhoons.
The agency also instructed the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to remain on standby for possible deployment in affected areas.
"Ang atin pong Secretary ay nagpapaalala sa kanila na ihanda ang lahat ng evacuation areas at gawin ang lahat ng paghahanda tungkol sa deployment ng PNP (Philippine National Police), BFP (Bureau of Fire Protection), at BJMP (Bureau of Jail Management and Penology)," Barreto said in a statement.
Baretto said that firefighters of the BFP and the jail personnel of the BJMP works closely with LGUs, and help in the stockpiling of relief goods.
