The stage is now set at Quirino Grandstand in Luneta Park, where the replica of Jesus Nazareno will be placed for the traditional Pahalik following the 6 PM Mass later today, January 6.
In a report by RH Boy Gonzales, lights and sound systems have already been installed, and barricades are in place to ensure the orderly flow of devotees around the grandstand.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has set up a command center and first aid station on-site, while the Manila Police District (MPD) has tightened security in the area to ensure public safety.
According to reports, the image of the Jesus Nazareno was transported last night at around 10 PM from the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo to Quirino Grandstand using a secure closed van.
As in previous years, the line for the Pahalik will start at South Road Drive on Kalaw Avenue, proceed to the grandstand, and exit through Katigbak Drive. Millions of devotees are expected to gather and participate in this annual tradition, which is a significant part of Jesus Nazarene's feast day celebration.
Authorities continue to remind devotees to maintain order, follow the guidelines, and prioritize safety amidst the anticipated large crowd.
