Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos announced on Wednesday that the results of the investigation into the alleged drug ties of two police generals and two colonels will be made public this week.

In a media briefing, he assured that they will cover all legalities and make sure that everything is airtight before releasing the statement.

"We are going to make a statement about this okay. Just give us about probably two days so that we can cover all legalities. We just want that when we make a statement, all of these are airtight," he said.

Rodolfo Azurin Jr., former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief and head of the five-man advisory group, disclosed that they have recommended filing complaints against the four ranking police officials who are among the 36 remaining officials under further review by the National Police Commission (Napolcom).

In addition, Abalos mentioned that the Napolcom Task Force is set to release its findings in a couple of weeks regarding the alleged cover-up in the 990-kilogram shabu drug haul.

However, he clarified that the investigation is not yet complete as there are still many unanswered questions.

This investigation was conducted after questions were raised on the anti-drug operation last year when Abalos revealed an attempt to cover up Police Sergeant Rodolfo Mayo's arrest.

The authorities seized nearly a metric ton of shabu worth ₱6.7 billion in Mayo's property.

On April 15, Maj. Gen. Eliseo Cruz, PNP Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management chief, announced that 49 people from the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group, including its former chief PBGen. Narciso Domingo will be facing complaints over their involvement in the controversial drug bust.

However, some of those implicated, including Domingo, denied the allegations of a cover-up.
