The police officer accused of murdering and dismembering a fellow law enforcer inside Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City has been arrested.
In a report by RH Edniel Parrosa, Director of the Philippine National Police-Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) PBGen Bonard Briton, confirmed that a warrant of arrest was served against Police Lt. Col. Roderick Pascua on June 24, while already under detention at the Regional Headquarters Support Unit of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) custodial facility.
The warrant was issued by Branch 271 of the National Capital Judicial Region, with no bail recommended for the charge of murder.
The crime reportedly occurred on November 28, 2023, when Pascua allegedly killed and mutilated his victim, Police Executive Master Sgt. Emmanuel de Asis inside the Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
According to initial findings, Pascua had caught his wife in a “very intimate” situation with De Asis, which may have triggered the attack.
The victim's dismembered remains were later discovered a week later, on December 5, buried at suspect’s ancestral home in Baguio City.
As of now, Pascua is under the custody of IMEG at Camp Crame as the authorities continue to investigate the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
