Private contractors are not allowed to carry out road works along EDSA on April 9 and 10, based on the announcement of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
In a press briefing on Thursday, April 4, MMDA Chief Romando "Don" Artes said only the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is officially allowed to do their projects during the said holidays which were said to be a Labor Day (April 9), and Muslim's Eidul Fitr (April 10).

"Hindi po papayagan na gumawa 24 hours [private contractors] kung hindi DPWH lamang po na kanila namang tinutugunan na tatapusin at iimpliment ng maayos tulad noong nakraaang Holy Week," Artes said.
According to Artes, the DPWH finished their projects on time before Holy Week.
It can be recalled right after Holy Week when EDSA roads were congested by the traffic made by the holes left in several construction areas.
The said unfinished projects were reportedly owned by a telecommunications company.
