President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has marked his 65th birthday by leading a simultaneous bamboo and tree planting event in San Mateo, Rizal on Tuesday, September 13.
The Chief Executive was joined by officials from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
In his speech, Marcos described the tree planting activity as a simple yet impactful undertaking to protect the environment.
"During my address sa State of the Nation, I made it clear: 'Preserving the environment is nothing less than preserving life.' And therefore, it can only be one of our important priorities if we wish to make sure that our plans for the country's economy will succeed," he added.
