Malacañang stated on Wednesday that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has instructed the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards to conduct a review of workers' salaries in all regions across the country.

In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro stated that a review is currently underway in 16 regions, with some regions already implementing salary increases.

Castro pointed out that, in discussions on wage hikes, it is important to balance the concerns of both employers and employees to determine a fair and reasonable wage.

The Palace made the statement in response to the call from the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines to expedite the passage of the legislated 200-peso wage hike.

Castro said that, as of now, Marcos has not yet responded to the request. Instead, he has fast-tracked the instruction for the regional wage boards to assess workers' salaries.
