The Office of the President (OP) issued an order on Monday, Oct. 10, directing the term extension of all employees and officials with coterminous status until Dec. 31, 2022.

Under memorandum no. 7 signed by newly-sworn in Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin dated Sept. 27, the extension is due to "exigency of the service and to prevent any disruption in the delivery of government services."

"All employees and officials in the Office of the President (OP) Proper, whose issued appointments were coterminous with the previous appointing authority, shall remain in service and continue to perform their duties and functions until December 31," he said.

Bersamin said all Duterte-appointed employees and officials will remain in the post unless their appointments are revoked sooner, resignations are accepted, or if there are issued replacements appointment, or reappointments.

The memorandum order shall take effect immediately.
