Malacañang Palace on Wednesday, declared June 24 as a special non-working day in the city of Manila.

Under Proclamation No. 599 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, the 24th of June 2024 (Monday) will mark the celebration of Manila City's 453rd Founding Anniversary.

"It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration," the memorandum read.

Manila City was established on June 24, 1571.
