Power has been restored after another 37-minute brownout hit the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) - Terminal 3 in Pasay City on Friday, June 9.
In a brief statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said that NAIA Terminal 3 encountered a power outage at about 12:51 PM, but power was immediately restored at 1:28 PM.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) also confirmed in a separate statement that as of 1:29 pm, normal commercial power from Meralco has been restored.

Interviewed by RH Sherwin Alfaro, OTS chief Mao Aplasca said despite the 37-minute power interruption earlier, x-ray and security check machines have been working as these were powered by the built-in uninterruptible power supply (UPS) or backup electric power.
“It’s only a 36 minutes interruption. ‘Yung machine namin ay may mga UPS. So, ang ating UPS kasi would last for 1 hour to 3 hours,” he said.
Despite the power being restored, air conditioning systems in several areas at NAIA were reportedly not working as of 2 PM.
The 36-minute brownout at the airport also reportedly caused long lines in the departure area, and several flights were halted.
