The short film "Titser Gennie" is MBC Short Film Festival's Grand Prix Winner.

Titser Gennie, a short film about a dedicated Aeta teacher who crosses rivers and walks about 3 hours to teach the Aeta community, was named the Grand Prix Winner of the first-ever Manila Broadcasting Short Film Festival on Saturday night, August 28.

Aside from the grand prize, Elijah Prades' Titser Gennie – which follows the life of Gennie Panguelo who passes the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in her 25th attempt –also bagged the Best Documentary award.

The Grand Prix winner will take home a total of PHP 165,000 – PHP 15,000 for qualifying in the final screening, PHP 75,000 for winning in the category/genre, and another PHP 75,000 for winning among category winners – tax-free.

Sonny Calvento's Excuse Me Miss, Miss, Miss, a satirical short film about a miserable contractual sales lady who will discover a jaw-dropping secret to regularization, was awarded as the Best Short Feature in the competition.

Stay, a heartwarming short film of the relationship between a dog and human was honored as this year's Best Animation. The film was directed by Irenea Catalina Valencia with Ehdsel Banag as the Background Artist and Video Editor.

During the voting period from August 16 - 25, 2021, the animation short film"Last Piece," a story about an old talented man who was able to paint again despite losing his vision, garnered the most votes and took home the Fan Favorite Award.
