Moreno challenges Robredo: 'Be a hero. Withdraw, Leni'
by John Dexter Tilo17 April 2022

Presidential candidate Isko Moreno on Sunday called on fellow candidate and Vice President Leni Robredo to make the 'supreme sacrifice' and pull out of the presidential race.

"Eh di ang pinaka-supreme sacrifice, if you are not a good player to win, then you pay the supreme sacrifice, you withdraw... Now we are calling: Be a hero. Withdraw, Leni," Moreno said in a press conference with other presidential candidates.

Moreno made the remarks after claiming that he, along with other presidential candidates, received encouragement from Robredo's side to pull out of the presidential race.

But for Moreno, Robredo's fight was only against the Marcos family and not for fellow Filipinos.

"Let me remind each and every one of you, VP Leni said so many, many times, and the yellow said so many, many times: No to Marcos, not again, never again."

"So it's always about the Marcos, it's not about you," he said.

Moreno added that with three weeks remaining, Robredo's move against Marcos was not effective because it was personal.

"Hindi naging epektib, 'yung laban nila kasi nga personal, may gantihan, away lang."

(It was not effective, this is because their fight is personal, about revenge, it’s just a fight.)

"I'm calling for Leni to withdraw because whatever you're doing is not effective against the Marcos. Withdraw, come and join us."

Moreno joined fellow presidential candidates, including Panfilo Lacson and Norberto Gonzales, in reiterating that they will not pull out of the presidential race.

They said their presidential bids will continue, vowing to ensure that Filipinos would have more than two choices aside from Robredo and election frontrunner Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
