In an online liveupdate, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno delivered 2 important announcements in line with the recent flood and class suspension in Manila today, July 21.
Two things were addressed during the live update of Mayor Moreno; First is the road closure of some parts in Taft Avenue (Taft corner United Nation and Taft corner Nakpil) to give way for the massive drainage check and clean-up. This is to address the issue of flooding in the said areas, road closure will start tonight at 11:00PM.
“Bubuksan ko po ‘yung malalaking manhole, this will need heavy machineries… This will cause heavy traffic, that’s for sure,” Mayor Moreno said to inform the public about the road closures in Manila and the possible traffic in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Mayor Moreno also announced that classes in Manila for public and private schools in all levels are suspended for tomorrow, July 22. This is based on the recommendations from the weather experts that there might be another chance of heavy rains in the area. Schools are still advised to do Alternative Delivery Mode or online classes.
Mayor Moreno reminded his constituents to stay alert and stay at home unless there is an emergency needed to attend, and called the attention of all Barangay officials to take a look and respond to the need of their community.
