Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso formally took his oath of office as Mayor of Manila in a simple ceremony on Monday, May 19.
Domagoso took his oath before Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio T. Kho Jr. at the Supreme Court En Banc Session Hall in Ermita, Manila.
Joining him at the ceremony were his wife, Dynee, their children—Patrick, Frances, and Franco, and their son Joaquin Domagoso, who was recently elected as Manila City 1st District Councilor.
In a Facebook post, Domagoso explained that the oath-taking was held early to allow him to fully dedicate his time and focus to more important matters, such as addressing the current and future challenges faced by the city.
"Inagahan na natin ang pagtupad sa rekisitos na ito para mailaan na natin ang ating buong panahon at isip sa mas mahahalagang bagay tulad ng pagbibigay solusyon at aksiyon sa mga suliraning kinahaharap at kahaharapin ng ating lungsod," said Domagoso.
He stressed that the administration’s direction will center on serving the people’s best interests—avoiding excessive spending on celebrations and focusing instead on the responsible use of public funds to meet essential needs, including public safety, decent housing, quality education, modern hospitals, and dignified livelihoods.
On May 13, Domagoso, along with his running mate Vice Mayor-elect Chi Atienza, was officially proclaimed, marking Domagoso’s return to Manila City Hall.
