

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has seen a dip in his approval ratings for the first quarter of 2023, the latest Publicus Asia survey showed.
Based on the result of the "Pahayag 2023 First Quarter Survey," Marcos' approval rating decreased from 64 percent during the last quarter of 2022 to 60 percent in the first quarter of 2023.
He particularly recorded lower approval ratings in Metro Manila from 60 percent in December to 57 percent in March, in North Central Luzon from 70 percent to 68 percent, in South Luzon from 55 percent to 53 percent, and in Mindanao from 73 percent to 63 percent.
The President gained one point in the Visayas from 59 percent to 60 percent. Meanwhile, Marcos' trust rating stands still at 57 percent.
Others
Vice President Sara Duterte, who also sits as the Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd), registered a 67 percent approval rating in the first quarter of 2023 compared to 68 percent in the fourth quarter of 2022. She logged increases in Metro Manila, South Luzon, and the Visayas.
Her trust rating is the highest among the country's top five officials included in the survey at 63 percent.
Duterte also registered the same rating in December 2022.
Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri maintains a consistent 47 percent approval rating and 38 percent trust rating.
House Speaker Martin Romualdez had a stable approval rating of 42 percent and a 33 percent trust rating. The trust and approval scores for Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo stayed at 32 percent and 39 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the poll showed the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is still the most approved and trusted national agency with respective ratings of 73 percent and 61 percent.
The “Pahayag 2023 First Quarter Survey” was conducted from March 2 to 6 with 1,500 adult respondents nationwide.
