Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna urged devotees and the public to follow the guidelines in accordance with the celebration of the Feast of Jesus (Hesus) Nazareno.
During a press briefing, the Manila Mayor stated that preparations by the local government unit (LGU), the management of the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of the Black Nazarene, and other stakeholders started as early as August.
"Kami po ay nagsimula buwan ng Agosto at tuloy-tuloy po ang ginagawa nating koordinasyon sa lahat po ng mga makakasama natin sa lahat ng stakeholders para po maging successful ang ating pagdiriwang ng Nazareno 2025," Lacuna stated.
Lacuna emphasized that enhanced guidelines will be implemented for this year’s celebration and called on the public to follow these measures for a safe and orderly feast.
She further added that the celebration of the Nazareno 2025 should be conducted in a solemn and proper manner.
Lacuna also expressed her gratitude to individuals for their cooperation, emphasizing that their contributions during the preparations will be crucial to the celebration’s success.
Meanwhile, Manila Police District (MPD) Director PBGen. Arnold Thomas Ibay stated that no security threats have been identified for the upcoming Traslacion.
A total of 14,500 personnel will be deployed from the MPD, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
On Sunday, the Quaipo Church released its schedule of activities and outlined its guidelines and reminders in preparation for the upcoming feast.
As part of the annual celebration on January 9, the Traslacion will traverse from Quirino Grandstand to the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno in Manila.
