The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) declared that the Traslacion of Jesus Nazareno, which began yesterday morning and ended early this morning, was "generally peaceful."
However, the NCRPO reported that more than 1,400 medical incidents were recorded during the nearly 21-hour procession, all of which were promptly and efficiently managed.
The Traslación unfolded smoothly, beginning at 4:41 AM on January 9 and wrapping up at 1:26 AM the next day.
NCRPO Chief PBGen. Anthony Aberin emphasized that this success was the result of the collaboration among over 12,000 police officers and more than 2,000 allied personnel from various government agencies, local government units, and medical teams.
He noted that the extensive preparations and the flawless implementation of security and public safety measures were crucial to the successful and smooth conduct of the Traslación.
During the height of the Traslación yesterday, a brief tension occurred at Ayala Bridge after devotees dismantled the barricade set up by 400 police officers.
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) immediately responded to assist devotees who were injured during the said commotion.
Meanwhile, several individuals fainted along the various routes taken by the procession.
Prior to the procession, a Misa Mayor was officiated by Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula, with approximately 140,000 devotees in attendance.
Compared to 2024, which lasted only about 15 hours, the Traslacion of the Jesus Nazareno in 2025 took nearly 21 hours to complete.
The movement of the procession was delayed when the ropes pulling the andas broke during the event.
