The Manila City government will impose a two-day liquor ban in the city to ensure peace and order during the commemoration of Holy Week.
Under Executive Order No. 9, it was said that selling and consumption of alcoholic beverages within a 500-meter radius of all Catholic churches in Manila are prohibited on March 28 (Maundy Thursday) and March 29 (Good Friday).
The Manila Police District and other law enforcement agencies have been instructed to ensure that establishments or stores are adhering with the order.
EO 9 was signed by Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan on March 26.
