

A fire broke out in one area of Sta. Cruz, Manila on Friday afternoon, July 4, injuring two and leaving an estimated ₱130,000 in damages.
Responders arrived at the scene, located in Barangay 375, Zone 38, in Tambunting by 2:05 p.m. There were 49 responders in total, bringing 19 firetrucks and two ambulances. Thirty fire volunteers joined their efforts to quell the blaze.
The first alarm was raised at 2:09 p.m. and the second by 2:16 p.m. The fire reached the third alarm at 2:43. It was declared under control, however, by 3:54, and extinguished by 4:36.
An 18-year-old Iverson fire volunteer sustained a laceration and abrasion in his left leg, while a 20-year-old Tracer 13 volunteer was lacerated at the nape.
According to Barangay Chairman Graciano Jacobe, the blaze began with an unattended cooking fire.
