According to initial reports, the 6-year-old was able to force his way out of the burning house, which saved his life. The mother was on duty at work in Quezon City at the time of the incident, while the father is currently working abroad.
Investigators noted that the victims were found without burn injuries, indicating suffocation as the likely cause of death.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and local authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
