The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly coercing his 38-year-old partner into becoming his “sex slave,” threatening to release their intimate videos if she refused his demands.
RH Edniel Parrosa reported that in an interview at Camp Crame, ACG spokesperson Police Lt. Wallen Arancillo said that the suspect and the victim were involved in an affair despite the woman being married.
“Ang victim po ay may asawa, nagkaroon po sila ng affair nitong suspek at nalaman po natin sa imbestigasyon na magkaparehas po sila ng lugar and nakita rin po sila dito sa Manila kaya nagkaroon po sila ng exchange of messages and intimate relationship,” Arancillo said.
Authorities said that the situation caused severe anxiety for the victim when the suspect allegedly began using her solely for sexual gratification, leveraging their private videos as blackmail.
The incident prompted her to seek help from the ACG regional office. Operatives then staged an entrapment operation, arresting the suspect inside the couple’s favorite motel.
Arancillo reminded the public, especially women facing similar threats, to immediately report cases of blackmail and online harassment to authorities.
"Kababayan po natin, lalong-lalong na sa mga kababaihan. We must know our worth. Huwag po nating hayaan na abusuhin po tayo ng ibang tao. Kung kayo man po ay nakakaranas ng online harassment and abuse, huwag po kayong magdalawang isip na lumapit sa PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group or tumawag ng 911. Andyan po kami limang minuto para tulungan," she said.
Earlier, PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III announced that the police are establishing a new dedicated helpline for blackmail victims, though they may still call the emergency hotline 911 for immediate assistance.
The suspect will face charges of grave coercion in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
