Puerto Rican volleyball team Changas de Naranjito announced that Kalei Mau has signed up with their squad.
Mau, who previously played for the volleyball team F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in the Philippine Super Liga, also confirmed that she has decided to play abroad.
The 25-year old Filipina-American assured that she will return to the Philippines in order to join the Cargo Movers when the team makes it debut in the Premier Volleyball League.
"I want you to hear it from me first that I will be playing abroad for a 2.5 month season. I plan to return to PH after this quick stint to compete in the PVL with my team," Mau said on Tuesday, April 27, in a Twitter post.
However, Mau who is currently in the US, will miss the tryouts for the Philippine national team.
"With that being said, I will not be able to attend the National Team tryouts this week due to travel restrictions and safety risks. But my dream to play for the Philippine flag has and will not change," the volleyball player said.
The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) invited Mau and 39 other players to join the national team tryouts in Subic.
