Actress Jodi Sta. Maria recently enrolled in a unique culinary course at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies (CACS) in San Juan, adding another accomplishment to her cooking experience.
As he lacks fundamental knowledge in cooking —skills, and information she has long wished to acquire—that go with the science of what she is making.
Despite being extremely busy, she eventually made the decision to use her free time to enroll in full-day sessions at CACS, where she was looked after by the husband-and-wife team of chefs Gino Gonzalez and China Cojuangco-Gonzalez.
Jodi had little time for her culinary course because she was between shoots, so Chef Gino, who was her instructor in all of her cooking sessions, organized a special class for her.
Her course was built expressly for her and the two friends who joined her in the program so they could learn more dishes in a day than if she were to go alone. It was modeled after the school's skills class.
She initially intended to learn solely how to cook, but after speaking with Chef Gino, she understood that baking would eventually overlap with cooking.
The actress also understood that in order to successfully "cross over" when cooking and baking ultimately collide, she needed to have a working knowledge of baking.
She spent more than half of her program taking cooking lessons from Chef Gino, who calls her a "really nice person."
