One individual sustained injury after a fire blazed a three-story building in a residential area in Globo de Oro, Quiapo in Manila on Wednesday, September 6.
According to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), the fire started at around 6:17 AM, and a second alarm was raised, a few minutes later.
Manila firefighters declared that the fire was under control at 7:18 AM, and fire out at about 7:53 AM.
In an interview with RH Boy Gonzales, Manila Fire Marshal Senior Supt. Christine Doctor Cula said their initial assessment showed that 30 families living in the building's 15 cubicles were affected by the fire.
Cula said the injured individual was a firefighter, and he was given immediate treatment for minor lacerations.
No other casualties have been reported yet.
According to the Manila Fire Marshal Senior Supt., the fire originated in the building's third floor but the main cause has yet been identified.
