On Friday, an engineer died after failing to come out of a four-storey house in Barangay Pacdal in Baguio City when it caught on fire.

The victim’s wife reported that she saw a thick smoke coming out from under the house and asked her child to check where it was coming from. They were able to confirm that it was coming from the basement, and rushed outside of the house.

Unfortunately, the victim failed to go outside on time and died.

According to the report from the Bureau of Fire Protection, the fire began at 8:40 p.m., after smoke was seen coming out of the house basement. Operatives were able to calm the flames and was able to declare fire out at 10:43 p.m.
