

A huge fire destroyed several houses in a residential area in Sitio Sto. Niño Phase 1, Greenhills Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City, on Thursday morning.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire was reported at 8:25 a.m. It quickly escalated as most of the houses were made of light materials.
Authorities dispatched ambulances and 16 fire trucks. However, they faced a low water supply, and one fire volunteer reportedly sustained minor injury.
The blaze was raised to the fourth alarm around 9:07 a.m., and was extinguished at around 10:42 a.m.
According to the fire volunteers, they faced difficulty in responding to the area due to several detours that needed to be done, and the road leading to the burning houses was narrow.
The BFP estimated 50 adjacent houses that were destroyed by the fire. Approximately 150 families are now struggling with where to liv,e as roughly P190,000 worth of properties were burned.
Residents stated that it is the first fire incident that has happened in the area.
Moreover, the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
