She said she was going to keep it low-key that night, but after all, she is a theater kid.

Saturday Night Live (SNL) garnered nearly six million viewers last Friday, October 12, as Ariana Grande made a strong hosting return on the show, playing several distinct characters with different voices.

From the spot-on Jennifer Coolidge impression, to singing a parody of Sabrina Carpenter's “Espresso,” the Wicked film actress wowed the show's audience as she solidified impressive vocal and comedic timing.

Although fans are well-aware of the pop star's singing abilities, Grande embodied a different persona as the bride's tone deaf sister singing about their bachelorette vacation before the wedding day. The best part? It's to the tune of Espresso! This specific sketch currently has 2.6 million views as of writing.

Meanwhile, Grande impersonated Celine Dion in a sports promo, telling the beauty of UFC. In a separate sketch, Grande impersonated Jennifer Coolidge, adapting a striking similarity in the actress’ voice and film roles.

However, the most viewed sketch on SNL's YouTube account shows the pop star sporting a bowl-cut wig—playing a boy who fell victim to a real practice back in the 16th century—to preserve the high melodic voice. The sketch also featured SNL alumni Maya Rudolph and Andy Samberg as the boy's parents.

The pop star's episode, which also featured Stevie Nicks as the musical guest, scored the biggest audience since May 2021, when Elon Musk was the host alongside Miley Cyrus. The episode was also a hit among social media users, with Grande's sketches being shared and edited across online platforms.
