After the cheating controversy with fellow actor Anthony Jennings, Maris Racal tries to make amends with her past through her latest single, “Perpektong Tao.”
Born from her journey with “pain, regret, and the courage to seek forgiveness,” Maris shared through her social media accounts that the song is a reminder that anyone can find the light, even in the darkest of times.

The lyrics of the song tackle asking for one’s forgiveness after secrets are revealed.
“Tigil nang bait-baitan 'yan ang paraan, may nasasaktan. 'Eto ngayon ako'y napapaligiran ng mga bagay na aking tinakasan. Harapin ang kadiliman. 'Wag nang magwala, 'la nang kawala,” the song’s lyrics read.
“Hanggang ngayo'y umaasa sa wakas nitong pagdurusa. Nakaluhod na sa masa nilalasap na ang aking karma,” it continued.
Through the song, Maris is seeking vindication after inflicting hurt on others. It seems that the public’s changed perspective made the actress reflect, prompting her to ask for forgiveness and face the music.

Maris and her love team partner Anthony were the subject of ridicule last December 2024, after the latter’s ex-girlfriend exposed his alleged cheating with the actress through screenshots of their conversations on Instagram stories.
