At least 15 families were left homeless after a fast-spreading fire engulfed around ten houses in Barangay 57, Tramo, Pasay City on Saturday morning, April 5.
According to the Pasay Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the blaze reportedly started in the home of a certain Boy Texson. His house, made of light materials, quickly caught fire and the flames spread rapidly to nearby homes.
Two fire volunteers sustained injuries while three pet dogs were killed after they were unable to escape from their cages, BFP reported.
The fire broke out at around 10:37 a.m. and escalated to the third alarm in just a short period. Firefighters declared the blaze under control several minutes later.
Fire personnel faced challenges entering the area due to the narrow alleys and tight residential pathways, which slowed down response efforts.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the total damage.
