In a report by RH 29 Boy Gonzales, according to the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB), the truck was coming from Quezon Bridge when its brakes malfunctioned. The incident caused heavy traffic for motorists in the area, as the Hidden Garden acts as a barrier for traffic heading to Sta. Cruz and Quiapo.
Fortunately, no other casualties were reported, as the truck managed to avoid hitting other vehicles and pedestrians before crashing into the wall.
The Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Office responded to the scene and assisted the driver, who was trapped inside the truck for nearly half an hour. After being freed, the driver was promptly transported to the nearest hospital for treatment.
The investigation on the incident is currently ongoing.
