Senate Majority Floor Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, who is poised to become the next Senate president, announced on Wednesday the committee chairmanships of some of his colleagues in the 19th Congress.
This comes after Senator Cynthia Villar conceded to Zubiri over the top Senate post.
In a media briefing, the reelectionist senator said he wants senators-elect Loren Legarda to serve as the President Pro Tempore and Joel Villanueva as his successor for the Majority Leader post.
Below are the senators and their respective committees:
- Win Gatchalian - Basic Education, Ways and Means
- Nancy Binay - Tourism and Accounts
- Sonny Angara - Finance
- Francis Tolentino - Blue Ribbon
- Imee Marcos - Foreign Relations
- Raffy Tulfo - Energy and Overseas Filipino Workers (new committee)
- Robin Padilla - Constitutional Amendments
- Bong Go - Health and Sports
- Chiz Escudero - Justice
- Bong Revilla - Public Works
- Grace Poe - Public Services and Banks
- Lito Lapid - Games
- JV Ejercito - Local Government, higher education
- Jinggoy Estrada - Labor
- Cynthia Villar - Agriculture and Environment
- Risa Hontiveros - Women
According to Zubiri, he has already reached out to the Cayetano siblings to join the majority while Sen. Koko Pimentel is vying for the senate minority.
Other committee chairmanships have yet to be assigned and finalized, he added.
