What's better than winning a gold medal in the Olympics? Winning two gold medals!
Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo bagged his second gold medal in the 2024 Olympics after he ruled the men's artistic gymnastics vault event on Sunday, August 4, in Paris, France.
The two-time World Champion garnered a final score of 15.116 to beat the eight other finalists in the said event.
Artur Davtyan of Armenia placed second after he garnered a final score of 14.966, while Harry Hepworth of Hepworth registered a score of 14.949 to finish at third place in the competition.
The victory of Yulo came a day after he won the gold in the men's artistic gymnastics floor exercise event.
With Yulo winning two gold medals in the Paris Games, the Philippines surpassed the gold medal haul of the country in the previous Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.
Aside from the two gold medals of Yulo, Filipina boxers Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio have also secured podium finishes in the 33rd Olympics.
