A woman gave birth on the side of the road along EDSA-Balintawak in Barangay Balingasa, Quezon City in the early hours of Wednesday, June 18 after going into labor while in transit.

According to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Acting District Director Police Colonel Randy Glenn Silvio, four officers from La Loma Police Station 1 immediately responded to the scene and assisted with the woman’s delivery.

In a video released by QCPD shows the officers assisting the woman and ensuring her safety while she was giving birth — essentially becoming makeshift midwives in the middle of the city’s main highway.

Silvio praised the swift and dependable action of the QCPD operatives, highlighting their readiness to serve not only in fighting crime but also in critical emergency situations.

He emphasized that the incident is yet another testament to the heroism and public service commitment of QCPD personnel.
