The body of a woman found floating in the Bued River in Barangay Cayanga, San Fabian on Thursday, May 15 has been identified by her family three days later.
In a report of DZRH provincial reporter Freddie Fajardo, Rolando Tandingan, 69, resident of Barangay Malabago in Mangaldan, Pangasinan, confirmed that the body was his daughter, Jennifer Tandingan, 40, a person with disability (PWD) who reportedly suffered from a mental health condition.
According to Police Lieutenant Jeffrey Biacan, duty officer of the San Fabian police, the father shared that Jennifer was taking maintenance medication.
Rolando further explained to the police officer that when he arrived home on Wednesday afternoon, his daughter was already missing, prompting the family to seek help from neighbors and relatives.
Their search eventually led them to the San Fabian police, where they were notified that a woman’s body had been recovered and brought to a nearby funeral home.
Upon arrival at the funeral parlor, Tandingan confirmed that the deceased was his missing daughter.
Initial investigation suggests that the woman may have suffered a medical episode while walking which caused her to accidentally fall from a bridge into the river.
The victim's relatives are convinced that no foul play was involved in her death and have declined to request an autopsy.
