

A 35-year-old farmer was found dead after drowning in the Bued River on Saturday night, August 22, in Barangay Artacho, Sison, Pangasinan
In a report of RH 38 Freddie Fajardo, the Sison Municipal Police Station Pangasinan received a report that a man was drifted by a strong torrent of water to which Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), and Artacho barangay officials swiftly responded to the scene, but to no avail.
Alma Lomibao, Mayor of Sison, convened and personally led the PNP, BFP, and MDRRMO personnel to form three teams for the retrieval operation.
The next day, around 6 a.m., the authorities finally found the victim’s body on the shore of the Bued River in Sitio Turod, Barangay Pindangan, Sison, Pangasinan.
According to Sison OIC, Chief of Police Major Jarvel Rillorta, the victim attempted to cross the river but ended up in a deep part and was swept away by the strong current, causing him to drown and succumb to death.
