The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) for both Region 4-A (Calabarzon) and Region 7 (Central Visayas) announced wage orders that raise the daily minimum wage rates for workers in the private sector.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) stated that the daily wage adjustments in Calabarzon range from PHP 21 to PHP 75, while in Central Visayas, the adjustments range from PHP 33 to PHP 43.

This adjustment raises minimum wage rates in the region to PHP450 to PHP560 in the non-agriculture sector, PHP425 to PHP500 in the agriculture sector, and PHP425 in retail and service establishments with fewer than 10 employees, once all phases are fully implemented.

The wage increase in Calabarzon will take effect on September 30, six days after the anniversary of the previous regional wage adjustment on September 24 of last year.

The increase will be implemented in two phases: the first on September 30 and the second on April 1, 2025.

Meanwhile, Central Visayas has maintained its area-based classifications of Classes A, B, and C, but each class will now have a single wage rate for both the agriculture and non-agriculture sectors.

The increase adjusts the daily minimum wages to PHP468 to PHP501 for Class A, PHP430 to PHP463 for Class B, and PHP420 to PHP453 for Class C.

Class A includes the cities of Carcar, Cebu, Danao, Lapulapu, Mandaue, Naga, Talisay, as well as the municipalities of Compostela, Consolacion, Cordova, Liloan, Minglanilla, and San Fernando, collectively referred to as Expanded Metro Cebu.

Class B includes cities like Bais, Bayawan, Bogo, Canlaon, Dumaguete, Guihulngan, Tagbilaran City, Tanjay, and Toledo. Class C covers all remaining towns not classified under either Class A or B.

The wage increase in Central Visayas will take effect on October 2, the day after the anniversary of the previous regional wage order issued on October 1 of last year.

The adjustments received unanimous support from all RTWPB representatives and were affirmed by the National Wages and Productivity Commission.
