Valenzuela City offers free unlimited showers to residents
Valenzuela City mayor Wes Gatchalian said that the local government unit provides the service following the arrival of two mobile showers and toilets.
Aside from helping the public to fend off the extreme heat, the mayor said that the mobile showers and toilets also promote good hygiene, and helps stop the spread of illnesses.
"Alam natin na grabe ang init na nararanasan natin. Importante yung madalas tayo na naliligo," Gatchalian said on Tuesday, April 30, during DZRH's Damdaming Bayan.
Gatchalian said that the LGU placed the mobile showers at densely-populated areas, and places without electricty in Valenzuela City.
"Tuwing may abiso ang MERALCO na may power interruption, ang instruction ko ay puntahan kaagad," Gatchalian mentioned.
Aside from the mobile showers and toilets, Gatchalian said that Valenzuela City also has 'Tubig Patrol' that makes rounds in areas with low water supply.
"Iyon talaga namimigay kami ng tubig sa mga lugar na mahihina ang water supply," the local chief executive said.
