Up to 10,000 police officers have been deployed across the National Capital Region (NCR) today, May 1, to ensure peace and order during Labor Day activities, according to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Major General Anthony Aberin.

In an interview with DZRH, Gen. Aberin said that the deployment includes approximately 3,500 personnel from the Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) unit and an additional 500 officers as augmentation from Police Regional Offices 3 and 4-A.

The deployed forces are strategically stationed in key areas throughout Metro Manila, particularly in locations where mass demonstrations and other activities for Labor day are expected to take place.

Aberin assured the public that the NCRPO has not monitored any security threats within the capital region, as of now.

Ahead of Labor Day, the NCRPO's Regional Mobile Force Battalion conducted a general accounting and showdown inspection at the grandstand of Camp Bagong Diwa.

The inspection aimed to ensure the readiness of personnel and the condition of equipment in anticipation of any potential civil disturbances or untoward incidents.

Furthermore, the inspection covered civil disturbance management gear, riot control equipment, and the physical readiness of personnel tasked with maintaining peace and security in various areas across Metro Manila.
