The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced the relief of two members of the Philippine National Police - Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) who allegedly provide unauthorized VIP security to a Chinese national with links to a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO).

NCRPO identified the cops as PCpl George Rojo Mabuti and Patrolman Roger Ramos Valdez.

The relief of Mabuti and Valdez happened after police arrested the pair due to their involvement in a fistfight incident last Saturday, May 18, in Ayala Alabang in Muntinlupa.

NCRPO said on Monday, May 20, that the two PNP-SAF members face charges for alarm and scandal, as well as administrative charges for neglect of duty and misconduct for moonlighting and unauthorized provision of VIP security.

NCRPO said that Mabuti and Valdez are not rendering official duties with their units: the 52nd Special Action Company Zamboanga, and 55th Special Action Company Zamboanga, respectively.

PNP-SAF has also ordered the relief of the Battalion Commander, Company Commanders, Platoon Leaders, and other personnel with direct supervision over the two cops pending the outcome of a thorough investigation.

Including Mabuti and Valdez, nine police personnel were relived from duty.

"This action underscores the SAF’s commitment to accountability and maintaining the highest standards of conduct," PNP-SAF said in a statement.
