Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin Tulfo expects that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will re-appoint him if the Commission on Appointments decides to bypass the confirmation of the Cabinet official.
Tulfo said on Tuesday, December 13, that President Marcos instructed the Cabinet official to continue with his duties before the Chief Executive left for Belgium.
"Otherwise, siguro, iba na yung sasabihin niya siguro sa akin. Pero ang last instructions ay continue what you are supposed to do," Tulfo said during DZRH's Dos Por Dos.
"Inaantabayanan kung lang na sabihin ng Pangulo na magpahinga ka na. Wala naman sinabi. Ang sinabi lamang ay tuloy-tuloy lang ang iyong ginagawa," he added.
Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri said on Monday, December 11, that the Commission on Appointments will bypass the appointment of Tulfo.
The libel conviction of Tulfo, his dual citizenship, as well as his previous enlistment to the United States army hinders the confirmation of the DSWD chief.
